Author Guidelines

The "Scientific Almanac of Black Sea Region Countries" Journal accepts original scientific articles in Russian and English, corresponding to the profile of the publication and reflecting the results of the authors' original scientific research. The optimal volume of the article is 2000-2500 words.

1. General

We accept manuscripts of original articles and reviews in Russian and English.

Before submitting a manuscript, the Author(s) guarantee that:

  • has(ve) exclusive copyright to the submitted manuscript and its publication in the Journal does not violate anyone's copyright;
  • this article is an original work submitted for consideration only to this Journal, is not under consideration in other editions of journals and has not been published before;
  • the list of Authors includes only those who have made a significant contribution to the study;
  • they have read and agree with the publication ethics of the Journal.

2. Submission procedure

The Author sends an email to science-almanac@mail.ru or uploads a set of files to the personal account on the Journal's website, including: 1) the text of the article; 2) additional materials (figures, tables).

If the manuscript was previously submitted for consideration to other publications, but was not accepted for publication, the Author must indicate this in the cover letter.

The Editors do not enter into correspondence with Author(s) to discuss the content, methods, or formatting of the articles submitted.

3. Registration and Initial Check-Up

Registration and preliminary verification of the received manuscript is carried out within a period of not more than 5 working days. The Editor notifies the Author of the current status of the manuscript by e-mail. If the Author has not received a letter with the Editor's response after this period, this may mean that the manuscript has not been received by Editor for some reason. In this case, you should contact the editorial office by contact phone +7 (863) 273-86-63.

The manuscript of the article received by the Editors of the Journal is considered by the Editor for compliance with the formal requirements for registration approved by the Editors of the Journal:

  • compliance with the profile of the Journal;
  • compliance with publication ethics (absence of plagiarism and correctness of borrowings, absence of publications of this material in other journals);
  • compliance with formal requirements for the design of the manuscript.

The manuscript that does not correspond to the profile of the Journal is rejected by the Editors with a letter sent to the Author with a reasoned refusal by e-mail.

If the formal requirements for the design of the manuscript are not met, then the article is sent to the Author for revision and improvement of inconsistencies in the design.

The Author(s) are invited to eliminate technical comments within 10 days from the date of sending by the Editors of the message with recommendations for improvement. If the revised article is sent later than this deadline, the Editors consider the article as newly received.

4. Peer review

The manuscript, designed according to the requirements of the Journal, is double-blind reviewed in accordance with the rules adopted in the Journal.

5. Admission Procedure

  • The Editors inform the Author about the acceptance of the manuscript for publication after review and indicate the possible terms of publication.
  • The recommendation of the manuscript for publication does not imply publication in the next issue of the Journal.
  • The Editors can provide a certificate of acceptance of the manuscript for publication (upon request).

A publishing license agreement is signed by the Author(s) after the article is recommended for publication.

The order of publication is determined by the date of their acceptance for publication and the editorial plans for each issue of the issue.

6. Editing and Publishing

  • All manuscripts accepted for publication are edited and proofread.
  • Manuscripts in the Author's edition are not published.
  • Editorial changes are agreed with the Author by e-mail.
  • The Article is published in online version.

7. Formatting Requirements

The text is typed without formatting and page numbering, taking into account paragraphs and special instructions in the requirements for the design of articles.

Font — Times New Roman. Font size — 14. Line spacing — 1.5. It is not allowed to put down a paragraph indent with a tab or a series of spaces.

The Article is submitted to the editors as a file with the extension .doc, .docx, .rtf.

The length of the Article includes an abstract, keywords, footnotes and bibliography.

The title of the Article, information about the Author(s), abstract, keywords, captions for figures and tables are provided both in Russian and English.

Material structure

Title of the article (maximum 10–12 words). Informative, concise, corresponds to the scientific style of the text, fully reflects the subject, topic and main purpose of the article.

In English. When translating the title of an article into English, it is unacceptable to use transliteration from Russian into Latin, except for untranslatable names of proper names, devices, and other objects; at the same time, terms known only to Russian-speaking specialists should not be used. It is undesirable to use abbreviations and formulas.

Information about the Author(s)

  • Full name. The name and patronymic are written in full and are indicated after the surname. The order in which the Authors are mentioned depends on their contribution to the work. Number of Authors can be no more than 3.
  • Affiliation of the Author. The official name of the institution must be provided. After the name of the institution, the country and city name go, as well as address with a comma.
    In English. The official English name of the institution must be indicated.
  • Link to scientist profile, registered with ORCID, Publons or other research community. The link is specified in the format https://orcid.org/xxxx-xxxx or https://publons.com/researcher/хххххх/
  • e-mail of the Author(s).

Abstract (150–250 words). It should summarise the aims of the research, main results and conclusions (given in Russian and English).

The abstract should not include references to sources from the full text, as well as abbreviations that are disclosed only in the full text. The abstract is the main source of information about the content of the article.

Structure of the abstract:
Introduction includes the scientific problem and objectives of the paper including the relevance and significance of the research.
Materials and methods state the materials and methods of the research.
Results reveal the main achievements and results obtained during the research work.
Discussion and conclusion summarise the results obtained are discussed, conclusions, practical recommendations and suggestions.

Keywords should reflect the main provisions, achievements, results, terminology of the scientific research. Recommended 7-10 words and word combinations. They are given in Russian and English languages.

Full text

Originality of the article — not less than 75%. The amount of borrowing from one source should not exceed 6%.

Structure of the main text of the article:
    • Introduction
    • Materials and Methods
    • Results
    • Discussion and Conclusion

The given parts should be highlighted with appropriate subheadings and relevant information should be presented in these sections (see Methodological Recommendations)

Illustrative material

Figures and tables should be adequate to the article and text, not to duplicate the entire text, not to be redundant or redundant. They are designed to provide a clear, complete and structured presentation of information.

All types of objects (tables, graphs, diagrams, drawings, schemes, drawings) and captions to them are placed in the text of the article and numbered if their number is more than one.

References to objects in the text are obligatory.

The title of the object is given in Russian and English.

Graphs, charts, schemes, pictures drawn by means of MS Office are provided as separate files in the format of source applications (.xls, .vsd, .doc).

Undrawn objects (scanned pictures, photographs) are provided as separate files in graphic formats (tif, jpg, png or .pdf) with >300 dpi resolution.

Tables are provided as editable text, not as images.

Additional information

Conflict of Interests — The Authors are required to disclose any existing or potential conflicts of interest that may influence the decision to publish their work. If there is no conflict of interest, please indicate: The author(s) declare(s) no potential conflicts of interest with respect to the research, authorship, and/or publication of this article. Any disagreements regarding authorship, funding, or personal relationships that may affect the submitted work must be resolved prior to submission of the manuscript. Concealment of potential or obvious conflicts of interest on the part of the authors revealed by the Editors may cause a delay or refusal to consider and publish the manuscript.

Acknowledgments — The Authors can express their gratitude to people and organizations that helped with the work on the study and contributed to the publication of the article, but are not its Authors. The section is optional.

Footnotes

Links to unpublished or unauthorized works (links to normative and archival documents, Internet sources without authorship, forums, etc.), government documents (government decrees, laws, etc.), historical documents, newspaper articles, Internet sources without authorship (forums, blogs, video resources, presentations, etc.), examples, works of art, sources of a journalistic and reference nature, as well as notes by the Author should be placed in footnotes.

References for a scientific article is a mandatory structural part, which reflects the scientific component of the coverage of the topic and allows you to verify the reliability of the data used in the study.

Manuscripts without a list of references will not be accepted for consideration.

The list of references includes only the sources used in the preparation of the article.

The number of sources for an original scientific article is 10-20, for a review article from 10.

The list of references is placed after the text of the article in alphabetical order (first sources in Russian, then in foreign ones).

Do not abuse the inclusion of dissertations and teaching aids, as they have very specific educational goals and are of a compilation nature. Instead of references to dissertations and abstracts, one should indicate articles from scientific journals, conference proceedings, monographs, etc., published both before and after the publication of the author's dissertation.

The list of references should contain sources published in the last 5 years.

Self-citation should be limited to 10-15% of references from the total number of sources, it should be justified.

The Journal uses the Vancouver citation format, which involves referring to the source in square brackets and listing the sources in a general reference list in the order of citation. The page is indicated inside the brackets, separated by a comma and a space after the source number: [5, p. 12].

The bibliographic description of the publication includes:

  • surname and initials of the authors (all, regardless of their number),
  • full title of the work,
  • edition (if specified),
  • city, name of publisher, year of publication,
  • volume (for multi-volume publications), number, issue (for periodicals),
  • for articles — numbers of the first and last pages; for a monograph — the volume of the publication.

If the sources have DOI, it is obligatory to specify.

When referring to an integral part of a book or collection (article, chapter, section, etc.), its initial and final pages must be indicated in the list of references.

Privacy Statement

Specified when registering the names and addresses will be used solely for technical purposes of a contact with the Author or reviewers (editors) when preparing the article for publication. Private data will not be shared with other individuals and organizations.
